Sunfish South Moreton - Recreational fishing in Moreton Bay
Sunfish South Moreton branch will be holding their annual Take a Kid Fishing Day on the Wynnum Tee Jetty on Sunday 3 April 2011.
The day will commence at 8.30am and finish at 12.00 noon. Kids must be accompanied by a parent or carer to register at the shelter shed near the whales playground. Look for our banners.
The registration forms will be the ticket for the lucky prize draw held at the end of the day. Prizes are donated by the Australian Industry of Recreational Fishing. One of those members, Bruce Alvey of Alvey Reels, will be present to assist with fishing skills and the prize draw.
Kids need to bring along their own fishing gear and bait. We suggest using prawns, squid or worms as a suitable bait for the day. Bait can be purchased from the Water Tower Bait and Tackle shop in the BP Garage complex at the roundabout on Manly Road.
Sunfish instructors will be available to assist with casting, knot tying, baiting a hook, safe fish indentification and handling.
So all the fami.ly is welcome to come along and enjoy a safe friendly day recreational fishing.
At the conclusion a sausage sizzle will be available, luckt prizes drawn and free sample bags given to the registered kids.
